
ICPH2009 is pleased to announce the following awards for outstanding
contributions from researchers, young investigators and students.
We are grateful to awards sponsors for their generous contributions.
All awards will be presented at the conference dinner on Wednesday
9th December.
When completing your registration form, please select the awards
that you would like to be considered for. Please note, delegates
can apply for more than one award, but only one award can be presented.
List of Possible Awardees
Award for Outstanding Flavonoid Research
1 Award of £2000; sponsored by MARS, incorporated.
This award will be presented to the researcher chosen by delegates
at ICPH2009 after a vote from a shortlist of candidates applying
for the Awards for Flavonoid Research (see below).
Awards for Flavonoid Research
5 Awards of £1000, in accordance with topics 1-5 below;
sponsored by MARS, incorporated.
1 Award of £1000, in accordance with topic 6 below; sponsored
by GlaxoSmithKline.
Shortlist selection:
Members of the Scientific and Organising Committees will publish
a shortlist of candidates (2 researchers in each of the 6 categories)
based on the award
criteria, and on suggestions by peers and colleagues to the
organising committee of suitable candidates.
Delegates may also nominate themselves when submitting an abstract,
indicating which category (1-6; see award
criteria) you wish to be considered in. Please also send your
CV to polyphenols@leeds.ac.uk
by July 31st.
Members of the Scientific and Organising Committees are eligible;
however any member applying for the award will NOT be able to cast
a vote in the category they are nominated in.
Voting for awardees:
The shortlist will be presented to delegates at ICPH2009. The delegates
(students are not eligible!) can vote for the candidate in each
category.
The researcher with the most votes overall will be presented with
the Award for Outstanding Flavonoid Research.
The researcher with the most votes in each category will be presented
with an Award for Flavonoid Research.
Awards for Young Investigators and Students (all countries)
4 Awards of conference registration & dinner + £250;
sponsored by MARS, incorporated.
These awards will be presented to 4 outstanding young investigators
(35 years or younger at the time of ICPH2009) or students, submitting
an abstract for consideration as an oral presentation. The abstracts
will be judged by members of the Scientific and Organising Committee
during August. All awardees will be invited to give an oral presentation
at ICPH2009 during a special session.
Travel awards for Young Investigators and Students
(countries outside EU and North America)
At least 12 Awards of conference registration & dinner
+ £250.
Contributions from the success of the 3rd ICPH2007 held in Kyoto,
Japan, have allowed for a number of travel awards. These awards
will be presented to 12 young investigators (35 years or younger
at the time of ICPH2009) or students from countries outside the
EU and North America, submitting an abstract for consideration as
an oral or poster presentation. The abstracts will be judged by
members of the Scientific and Organising Committee during August.
Awardees will be invited to give an oral presentation or present
a poster at ICPH2009.
Poster Awards
6 Awards of £200; sponsored by MARS, incorporated.
4 Awards of £200; sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline.
All posters will be on display during the entire conference and
there will also be dedicated poster-viewing sessions. Members of
the Scientific and Organising Committee will independently judge
the posters and select the awardees before the conference dinner.
